How to shrink or cleanup the winsxs folder in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008


Shrinking Windows’ huge WinSxS folder is big trouble. If you try manually to do this – you can mess up your Windows. Reduce Windows 7, or Windows Server WinSXS Folder Size is very important because on most servers (Cloud hosting virtual machine), you will have 30Gb, and the Windows WinSxS folder can be 10GB-15GB size. If you pay for Cloud hosting – this disk space, you need to pay every day.
As a freelancer, you can lose a lot of money for nothing.

How to clean winsxs windows folder? Hard. But you can down to size folder windows winsxs.
Solution :
In Windows Server 2003, go to Windows, then System32, and then run as Administrator: VSP1CLEAN.exe
In Windows Server 2008, go to Windows, then System32, and then run as Administrator: COMPCLN.exe
In Windows 7 and Server 2008, R2 goes to Windows, then System32, and then run as Administrator: DISM.exe.

This is it! I got 6 GB on my server.
